The New Zealand Petroleum Club

A forum for upstream oil and gas operators with operations in New Zealand.

Operators, explorers, service companies, rig owners and key infrastructure providers use the forum to discuss upcoming activity and share information for mutual benefit and the advancement of the industry in New Zealand.

The New Zealand Petroleum Club (NZPC) also administers the Offshore and Onshore Operators' Forum. Meeting minutes and a spreadsheet of upcoming drilling plans and rig availability are sent to key personnel.

Scope of the club

The purpose of the NZPC is to share information for the purposes of co-ordinating resource sharing and farming opportunities for the benefit of all parties for future operations.

It is intended that the exchange of information would be fair and equitable among all participants. NZPC is a meeting of members to exchange views and full participation is actively encouraged.

Confidentiality of meetings

The New Zealand Petroleum Club meetings are held under the Chatham House Rule:

When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received within their own organisation. This information is not to be distributed externally, nor is the identity, affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant.

· No journalists will be present from Energy News or from any other media outlet

· Attendance will be restricted to members and invited guests only

Scout Check or Club?

The New Zealand Petroleum Club is not a scout check strictly speaking and participants are not expected to provide detailed drilling reports nor will they receive the same.  The expectation is that an activity review of each participating company will highlight current operations, upcoming plans and other industry wide knowledge sharing useful for the larger group.
