The organisers of Minerals Forum, Straterra and Freeman, have made the decision to proceed with an in-person conference in Hamilton next month.
Organiser Matt Freeman says that in light of the Government’s announcement and after careful consideration and consultation with the Forum’s key sponsors and stakeholders, the decision was made to proceed in-person.
“There is no doubt our registered delegates, speakers and sponsors would rather an in-person event, provided it can be held safely and within current lockdown restrictions,” he says. “We will have a hybrid online component available as well with a number of speakers from Australia using this option.”
Minerals Forum, scheduled for October 13-14, is to be held at Claudelands Events Centre in Hamilton. There are presently 270 delegates registered for the event. Freeman expects this number to rise with confidence levels and in line with the buoyant state of the sector. “Gold mine developments and exploration in particular are driving interest in the event,” he says. “Coupled with a resilient coal sector and ongoing infrastructure demand for aggregates, it is shaping up to be another good event.”
The event is being held in partnership with AusIMM and boasts a new technical stream and student programme. Key sponsors are Bathurst Resources, Terra Cat and OceanaGold.
