Downstream is New Zealand’s leading event for everyone involved, directly or indirectly, in the energy industry.
This must–attend event provides valuable insights into current and emerging challenges and opportunities across the energy sector, including network performance, distributed energy, the changing retail landscape, regulated markets, emissions, technology, and customer trends.
The 2026 in‑person event at Tākina Wellington attracted more than 570 delegates from across the industry.
Event content is guided by a steering group comprising representatives from the Foundation Partner organisations and the wider energy sector, ensuring the programme remains relevant, credible, and forward‑looking.
Downstream does not feature sensationalist content. Instead, it offers a considered approach, with presentations and discussions from respected local and international energy sector leaders and influencers.
The next Downstream will take place at Tākina Wellington on 10–11 March 2027, with a welcome function held the evening prior.
