These sentiments were echoed by many on the day and afterwards. The recorded message from Kathleen McLaughlin – Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer from Walmart set the tone for the day and provided some practical steps and resources to target Scope 3 emissions.
Closer to home Catherine Leining - Policy Fellow from Motu contextualised the challenges for New Zealand prior to the leaders’ panel discussion. The day then intermixed hands-on sessions like the roundtables on building and transportation, case studies on solar deployment, future regulations and stories of personal drivers to reduce emissions.
